Snowpack
Up track coverage nearly there, all creeks passable but still open. We chose to stay off steep and open slopes. We observed heavy snowfall, immersion a possibility, snowboarders falling needed help to get up. Deep, heavy snow. Lower down coverage is still shallow, watch for holes (creeks), logs, rocks, etc. Decided to evaluate snowpack in opening in trees, leeward, convex roll - 40 degrees. Here were our findings: 0-35cm: Fist, PP 35-100cm: 4F 100-110cm: Fist, Facets (1-2mm) 110-140cm: Pencil (1F), MFcr 140cm: Fist, polycrystals (2-3mm) Test Results: ECTP 18 down 45cm (PP's and SH) CTE6 RP down 26cm CTM SP down 50cm x2 CTH SP down 105cm x2
