Snowpack
Despite warm temperatures overnight, clear skies led to a solid refreeze of the snow surface. A surface crust 1 to 2 inches thick was present. At 9 AM above treeline easterly surfaces were still mostly frozen. Near treeline the snow surface had softened less than an inch deep and made for nice skiing. Supportable snow surfaces all around and no signs of instability.---A few quick hand pits in the east-facing start zone revealed softer and drier snow layers underneath melt-freeze crusts. In this area, where storm snow totals from the last storm were over a foot, recent snow has yet to transition to melt forms.
