Very warm and calm winds

Northerly aspects near and above treeline are still holding on to their winter snowpacks with depth ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters. A quick pit at 11,200' showed a 10 centimeter supportable melt/freeze crust at the surface of a 165 cm snowpack. Free water is not reaching below the upper third of the snowpack and the depth hoar is still relatively dry and cohesionless
