Weather

The skies were mostly clear at the beginning of the trip, quickly becoming overcast with light snow. Around 1:00 pm, a brief but intense period of snow and wind layed down a quick 2 inches of new snow.

Snowpack

The snowpack depth was 165 centimeters on an east facing slope just off the ridgeline near 11,000 feet. Two crusts were evident in the top 20 centimeters. The lower crust is sitting on the March storms which has formed a strong, dense slab. A thin crust remains at 78 cm's from the ground. The 2-4 mm depth hoar is moist and rounding from 45 cm down to the ground. No failures could be produced in instability tests
