Weather
The skies remained mostly cloudy with intermittent pockets of sunshine. Light southwinds helped keep things cooler, it became very warm and stuffy when the winds would stop and intermittent sunshine. No visible blowing snow at ridgeline.
Snowpack
The total snowpack depth on a southwest facing slope near 12,000 feet was just shy of 2 meters. 5 centimeters of new snow sits on top of two supportive crusts that have a thin layer of facets sandwiched between them. The thicker crust is about 15 centimeters thick , knife hard and sits at 165 cm from the ground. Another significant but unreactive crust near 90 centimeters from the ground is likely the interface of the early March storms. In the depth hoar, a compression test produced an easy failure near 35 cm from the ground CME5 Q1.
