Weather

Grey, overcast skies and warm temperatures. Southwest winds were strong enough above treeline for blowing snow to be visible at ridgeline.

Snowpack

The overall snowpack is significantly thinner in the eastern portion of the Aspen zone than the southern and western portions of the zone. North and northeast-facing slopes above treeline have spotty, noncontinuous snow cover. West and northwest facing slopes are generally wind-stripped. A layer of 3-5mm intact surface hoar noted at 9500 feet on all slopes that held snow.
