We were a little bit disappointed on our ascent to the alpine to see so much wind affected snow on north aspects as we were hoping for a few decent turns while gathering snowpack info! Our moods improved when we got above the valley cloud and discovered that south aspects still had good snow, about 25-30 cm, well bonded to a supportive crust.
