Weather
Blustery, temperatures struggled to make it into the positive numbers by noon. Ridgetop winds occasionally would find a lingering pocket of snow to blow around with no visible loading.
Snowpack
The snowpack is still generally thin, with depths ranging between 100 -120 cm near 12000 feet. On a west southwest facing slope, Extended Column tests produced non-propagating easy to moderate failures on a crust facet combination 15 cm from the surface and again on a buried surface facet layer about 30 cm from the surface. Propagating moderate/hard ECT results on a crust/depth hoar interface about 15 cm from the ground.
Avalanche
Several debris piles are visible on Independence mountain with no crown, making timing and details unclear. The only avalanches listed and coded are ones that I could make out a crown and assign a reasonable date
