Sat/Sun out at murray hut. Due to forecast, vowed to stay off alpine slopes. Pit dug on NW aspect of greenberry showed ~30cm of fresh load, very loose. then ~1m of roughly the same density snow (4 fingers) then some sugary facets at the very bottom where we found a bunch of willows.... Willows appeared to be holding the whole thing on the slope very well. CTH5 at the very bottom, but then difficult to remove. Whole column came out as one unit (minus very light pow on top). Cut into the back of the pit and tried jumping on it with skis on with no results. We skied some steeper stuff on greenberry (35 degrees) with no issues. Also skied the other side of the saddle with similar observations. Sking quality was amazing but early season snowpack made travel very difficult.
