We skied on the Columbia Icefields between May 4-6, with the 5th being our main summit day. We summited all The Twins with the exception of West Twin. The reason we did not summit West Twin was because we found snow instabilities higher up on the peak’s east (lee) slope that produced whumpfing and shooting cracks. A test pit profile showed a poor bond between layers (crust & windslab) down 40cm.
