Consistent snow (enough to skin) starts at 1350m and is very high density. At 1600m this morning entering the meadow it lightened up a bit but still a real sluggish, hip flexor flaring trail break. Above 1700m travel became easier with a lot of the loading transported and wind pressed. By the time we descended from 1800m at noon it was all baked and making turns wasn’t an easy task. Survival skiing back down to 1450m before A-Framing up and boot packing back out to the Metal/Brandy junction where we parked. 1550m Ski pen 38cm Boot pen 57cm 1800m Probed 90cm Hand shear tests all broke. Zero signs of instability overall up the front side/south aspect.
