We spent a couple camped out and exploring the drainages to the east of White Pass. A wind event over the weekend redistributed the new snow from last week; on Saturday night, gusts were pushing 75km/hr at our campsite. The winds abated on Sunday, leaving dense wind slabs that extended well into lee features. Sled cutting small gully walls produced some isolated avalanche activity to size 1. We stuck to larger planer features were we found these windslabs were bonding well to the underlying surfaces. In general, the snowpack is relatively deep and supportive for this time of year, making for fast and easy travelSpent a couple camped out exploring the drainages east of White Pass.
