Snowpack

Carbon Trees 11,200 - 11,760' E-S-SW aspects below and near treeline No cracking, collapsing, whumpfing, etc. Quick probing revealed either powder or 3cm of suncrust over a 30-40cm stiff slab over facets to at least 130cm below the surface. Significant signs of windloading on northeasterly leeward features (Putney ridge, U.S. Basin cirque, etc.) Surface conditions variable from P to K suncrust open areas to F powder (shade).

Day-old wet-loose on southerly aspects near and above treeline. No avalanches observed today.
