Another warm and sunny day, with a very light breeze at higher elevations
Snowpack
Surface snow was moist to start the day but remained supportable, even below treeline. By early afternoon, the top 4 inches (10cm) or so was trending to wet, and water was freely moving through the snowpack. We dug in a few places between 11300' and 11800' on NE to SE slopes to see if there was any difference in what layers were saturated or where water was flowing. The most common layer that was fully saturated was down 10 inches to a foot on a crust/facet layer buried by recent storms.
Avalanche
A small wet loose avalanche in the sky chutes (poop chute), likely ran yesterday afternoon on a south-facing above treeline slope. Two other bigger wet slabs in 10-Mile Canyon were previously reported.
