Snowpack

I travelled on south to southwest aspects below, near, and above treeline. On my way up in the morning, the upper 10-15cm below the snow surface was already wet on due south to southwest aspects below and near treeline. Terrain features that faced a bit more westerly remained frozen. On my descent the upper 5-10cm on these more westerly aspects were wet. I dug near treeline on a south aspect and found that the upper 15cm of the snowpack was wet. The snowpack was moist down to around 115cm above the ground, and then below that was dry to moist. I found vertical ice bodies down to 91cm. See snowpit profile for more details. Above treeline on south aspects the upper 5-10cm of the snow was moist to wet. On my way back to the trailhead below treeline, the snowpack remained supportable to skis, but boot pen was to the ground.
