Wind transport was observed on higher ridge tops in the area.
Snowpack
On N aspects below treeline, the snowpack is weak. Facets on facets on depth hoar. In general there is no slab present. Surface hoar was observed on N aspects and on other aspects in sheltered areas. On SE aspects near treeline the upper snowpack was supportive, with a thin slab sitting on faceting grains. The snow surface on true S aspects shows some solar effect.
Avalanche
Debris from a couple of older avalanches was observed above treeline looking over into Second Creek. Generally E aspect and likely occurred during the recent strong winds on 12/12.
