Snowpack

Played around on some road cuts on mostly NW facing aspects BTL. Found easy reactivity and propogation. HS 27” with 8” new snow resting on 19” of facets. All cut tests failed at ground. The first (pic 1) massive collapse and some movement with multiple cracks but not steep enough to slide. The second (pics 2,3) from a pole plant on a mellow cut and showed strong propagation and easy shear quality. Dive bomb skiing in season-deep snow when penetrating the new snow layer and punching into hollow facets.
