S-1 increasing to S2 by 11:00 with an occasional break in the clouds but mostly OVC. Above freezing temperatures below about 9,500 feet in elevation. Southwesterly winds with Moderate snow transport at ridgeline.
Snowpack
Ski pen ranged from 15-30cm with the snowpack about 50cm deep on average. Bottom of the snowpack consisted of moist facets or rounding facets below a very thin (<1cm thick) 1F-4F hard rain crust up to 11,000 feet. Localized cracking when walking on wind-loaded terrain features never propagating past ski tips. On northeast-facing slopes near the treeline a FCsf layer was found about 20cm below the snow surface.
