Weather

Cold morning ~15 F at 8am, no clouds. Gusty winds around 15-25 mph most of the morning. Warming in to the afternoon. E aspect, 11,000 feet. Significant snow transport seen in the Anthracites in the alpine. Wind direction predominantly from the South.

Snowpack

HS was 170cm on upper portion of Marble Bowl. 1F slab resting on 4F old snow. ECTN on a profile dug at 11,000 Feet on an E aspect. Experienced two sizeable collapses on S/SE aspects (10,000 feet) where large trees may have sheltered old snow. No propagation where collapses were encountered.

Avalanche

We could see a sizeable crown from the Quarry Road on the furthest south "Alley". Looked to run naturally and take up most of the path's width from the ridge. R2.5 D2.
