Weather

Calm, cold, beautiful day on the pass. Temps maxed out at around 20F by the time we returned to the trailhead at 1400. Little to no wind observed all day in the near treeline elevation band. Clouds remained stuck over the divide for most of the morning, keeping much of the current creek drainage from receiving any sun. Sky was clear upon our return to the trailhead at 1400.

Snowpack

I dug a pit on a N facing slope near treeline. The structure was a pretty classic early season CO setup with the lower half (0-38cm) comprised of facets and with the upper half comprised of various layers ranging from P --> F. The interface between the F and P layer at 38cm is of most concern at this point. Performed a compression test (CT12 @38cm, SC) and an extended column test (ECT18 @ 38cm).
