Skies were partly clear towards the south (Reudi Resevoir), and overcast to the north (Sylvan Lake) for the morning. Completely overcast by 2pm, light snow and low fog by 4pm. Moderate to strong west wind was transporting snow on valley floor, ridges, and peaks. Temperature was well below freezing.

Snowpack

Average of 25cm new snow in areas undisturbed by wind. New snow was dense and very cold. Sastrugi and stiffening windslabs along east-facing ridgetops. Small collapses and shooting cracks (4-6 feet) were prevalent on flat ground, breaking on the old snow surface. Shooting cracks (4-6 feet) were breaking cornices along inconsequential ridge. Height of snow was 50-60 cm on average. (25cm new snow on 25cm F- facets, on 10cm depth hoar)
