Snowpack
On a south aspect near timberline height of snow is 60-80cm. Air temperature was cold but solar radiation, combined with cloud cover, was heating the upper snowpack and the storm slab was F+ approaching 4F hardness. The storm slab was about 38cm with 21cm from the Christmas Eve storm and 17cm from the Christmas storm. A K hard crust facet crust complex exists, midpack, below the storm snow. Another crust exists about 10cm above the ground. One hasty pit found depth hoar at the ground, a second pit did not. One isolated collapse was experienced on the slope. ECTPV at storm slab/crust interface approximately 40cm down.
Avalanche
Lower Prospect Trees NE BTL. SS-AS-R1-D1-G. One path with two, possibly three, avalanches 10m wide x 10m vertical x 0.5m deep. Avalanches triggered mid path and ran the rest of the path about 180 vertical meters.
