Snowpack
Variable. Multiple weak layers including facets above ground level, very soft almost hollow snow from New Years, more dense new snow from past couple days, and wind loaded surface snow on ridge tops.
Avalanche
We observed numerous avalanches that appear to have slid naturally towards the end of the last storm. Most had 1-2†of new snow on the bed surface and debris pile. These avalanches were observed at all aspects. Many right off of the trail and others seen across gullies and on numerous hillsides. Snow is still extremely sensitive as we observed shooting cracks and woomphing all throughout the day today.
