Dug a test pit right below summit of Marriot Trees (N slopes above Marriot Lake). Performed a CT looking to see the reactivity within the storm snow. Results are as follows: -CTM11RP down 28cms on PP (2mm) -CTM13SP down 50 on DF/FC (1mm) Because the forecast reported limited observations on the Jan. 15th and Jan. 5th MFcr interfaces, after doing my initial CT I performed a deep tap test on the Jan. 15th MFcr. Results are as follows: -DT30 No results. After observing a sudden fracture character in our initial test, we performed an ECT to test for propagation propensity. Results are as follows: -ECTN17 down 50cms on DF/FC (1mm) With these results, we continued with our plan to ski the south slopes (Marriot Trees) above Marriot Lake. The first run we did the snow was excellent. The second run after some warming throughout the day produced some small sluffs in the upper 10cms of the snowpack.
