S Facing Instability

Spent five days hammering our legs and all the various aspects around the Brian Waddington hut. There is a hard sun crust about 30-40cm down on S facing slopes that storm snow is having trouble bonding to. We set off this size 1 and another 0.5 before switching to almost exclusively N facing terrain; which was cold, dry, unconsolidated snow with minimal slab properties. We found 3-4cm windslab on N facing alpine features near Ridgeline but it didn't produce any results. When sun comes out it is powerful which reinforced our desire to ski in the shade

See picture. On said date we triggered two small slides on S facing slopes. Storm snow not bonding to sun crust. Hopefully this layer bonds soon
