Attempted a recon mission to Pulpits 3 but it was thwarted by early season snow. We braved the river crossing (not close to frozen for anyone wondering). The idea was to gain the bowls and hope for decent turns. The early season snow is barely covering the hazards of the forest floor. Lots of branches, logs and rocks to slow travel. It took much longer than usual just to gain the bottom of the slope from the river valley. We assessed access to the Pulpit and determined it would not be worth it. Even if you did make it up, skiing out would horrendous due to low early season snow pack. A nice walk in the mountains but no turns were made.
