Spent 3 days touring around the Marriot Basin. Snowpack above 1600m was 20-40cm of fresh snow, mostly unconsolidated on top of a variety of crusts. Easy to poke down into lower snowpack and feel the sugary facets at the bottom. Dug a few quick and dirty pits, a few resistant planar results on storm snow/crust interface, but did not personally witness any slides, whumping or shooting cracks. High alpine snowpack was wind effected with slab starting to form. Another party reported a sz .5, intentionally triggered on steep convexity, which ripped all the way to ground. This kept us from pushing into bigger terrain.
