Weather

overcast snowing lightly, S-1, -5c with light winds at the trailhead at noon. felt like a significant air temp drop around 1430 as the clouds started to thin but the trailhead temp at 1600 was -7c. Clouds were clearing, scattered to broken, late afternoon which showed strong NW winds off the divide with mod blowing snow below and near treeline, intense above treeline

Snowpack

50cm new snow on a pretty firm old snow surface.

Avalanche

SS ASr D1 R2 I east aspect 11100'. a bit hard to see this in the clouds at the time but it looked like was 30-45cm deep adjacent to ski tracks. based on the the photos from yesterdays reported SS this was a separate event. We had a bit of sluffing in the new snow on steeper terrain, east aspects around 10800' and. a small soft slab on a SE aspect closer to 11000' on the new/old interface.
