Weather

Windy below the treeline on McClure Pass; however, there is still a lot of snow on the evergreens and aspen trees. The temperature stayed cool throughout the morning and skies were dark and obscured with light snow falling most of the morning as well.

Snowpack

Snow depths specifically for the Lone Tree Bowl Path: 141cm at start zone elevation (9700'), 96cms mid-track (8770') and 54cms lower track (8200'). The near-surface faceted grains buried on 12/23 are visible in the profile wall but are fairly resistant and produced a propagation saw test of PST 70/115 End down 91 cms on FCsf .5 mm. The basal facets have grown in size since last site visit from 1mm to 3mm and produced a propagation saw test result PST 25/115 down 115cm.
