Kootenay Pass

Size 1.5 avalanche observed at 1750m below tree line above clear-cut. Ran to ground on late Nov. melt freeze crust. Pit at 2100 above shows 150cm snowpack with 70 cm of fist hard snow sitting on 15 cm of facets and surface hoar. All of this sitting on Nov. 26 and 23rd melt freeze crusts. Noticeable that the snowpack stiffened with the increased temperature throughout the day. Definitely a day to stick to below tree-line simple terrain.
