Epic day in the backcountry. Simply enjoyed the deep snow and long spells of sunshine. Lower our exposure to overhead hazard and avalanche terrain. Winds were sustained moderate, often gusting strong at ridge top. Significant drifting and transport. Open areas above treeline were getting wind affected, lots of loading on lee asp. See avalanche tab. Cudos to all the riders out there today making great terrain choices.

Avalanche

Numerous natural windslab events up to sz2 on steep lee alpine terrain. No step downs. Fractures up to 500m wide. Significant wind transport and slabbing in open areas.
