Weather

Mixture of freezing rain, hail to rain. Warm and wet all day, winds light to moderate SW in AM, increasing to strong W by 1530.

Snowpack

Site was WNW facing slope, open trees, well supported, 26 degrees. At time of pit observations, sky OBS, ZR -1. Winds L, SW ECT19 (BRK) down 37cm on FC, 1-2mm (Dec29/30 cold&clear event) CTM3 (SC) down 53cm on MF, 2-5mm (Dec28 warm event) RB6 (BRK) down 50cm on MF, 2-5mm (Dec28 warm event)

Avalanche

Three avalanches heard today between 1150 and 1253 up the Valley of Certain Doom. Slides observed during end of day sweep from Upper Boundary with minor visibility of Hourglass gully, and Tree Triangle gully running to valley bottom.
