Silvern till the end

Today we rode at Silvern Lakes. We observed multiple size 2 avalanches in the alpine, tree line and below tree line that occurred around Dec 26th. All of these avalanches have been running on the Dec 23 facet/surface hoar layer. During testing we had moderate extended column test results on the Dec 23 facet/surface hoar layer that propagated the entire block. We observed 3 layers of surface hoar within the top 30cm of the snow pack. The Dec 23rd layer down 25cm-50cm, a surface layer down 10cm and a new layer of surface hoar on the snow surface.
