East facing slopes were definitely wind affected with a bit of a crust beginning to form, though totally nonreactive as of December 30th on slopes of about 30 degrees. Due to all the new snow and what seems like a lack of a solid base on the snow pack in the area we stuck to conservative mellow N and NW slopes where the snow quality was good with deep powder and no crust. Breaking trail was exhausting with ski penetration of ~20cm in most areas.
