One of the best tours of the year up the Cushing above 16km! Clear blue, sunny, and not as much wind as we were expecting. The snow was fabulous as well, 20cm light dry powder and gradually firmer down to the rain crust about 60cm down. Saw no results on an extended column test. On our regular column test we had a failure on top of the rain crust on our 7th hit from the shoulder. Overall we felt pretty good about the conditions, we jumped on a few steep kick turns, did not observe whumfing or shooting cracks all day. The snow was not wind affected until 2100M which was as high as we got. We did observe loose dry sluffs as we shred steep slopes.

Snowpack

Snow was still warm heavy and wet down underneath the rain crust. Down 80cm or so.
