Old Glory North Couloir very firm

Skied the couloir on the north face of Old Glory on Saturday. No signs of instability. We ski cut the entrance to the couloir on belay and couldn't make anything move. No evidence of wind slabs. The couloir was very firm. I was glad to have sharpened my edges recently. A fall might be hard to arrest with how firm the snow is. We were on the lookout for surface hoar. We only found it next to creeks in sheltered areas at Valley bottom. The sun and wind cleared out anything that wasn't sheltered. Fun day.
