Below treeline, snowpack supportable w a few cm of fine-grained FC at surface, moist in sun; dry on trees slopes. Not close to trapdoor conditions. Near treeline, HS ~105 and surprisingly faceted. In pit at ~11500', NNW facing, distinct layer of v. lg SH buried 12-15 cm below surface; some rounding of these grains. Snow above soft except for 5 cm P-hard wind slab/ crust. Might be thicker in areas with more deposition. 12/13 IF buried 50-55 cm below surface, and 11/22 IF about 30 cm below that, w K hard MF crust immediately above. Well preserved DH to ground - 4mm, chained, w only a little rounding. Bed surfaces of old slides barely supportable.
