Bluebird, nw aspect 9800 - 8800 ft, same area as above
Snowpack
Just below treeline at 9400' near coordinates above. Nw heavily treed slope. 30 to 40 degrees. Failed on the ice crust at ct 18. ( i know thats not the norm. Just wanted to wail on it to see if it would go). High quality shear, low energy. Found no other layers at that site. Snow was well bonded and came out in blocks when shoveling. I call it stryofoam. Its what i like to see.
Avalanche
None sited including soda peak. Evidence of beelers highmarking a nw chute on soda peak. Still none. Surprising considering the wind slab that tends to be up there.
