Avalanche

Weather

Sky was partly cloudy. There was blowing snow, with light winds coming from the S-SW. Temps were steady for most of the day.

Snowpack

Wind Loading was observed on N-NE-E-SE-S aspects. On South facing slopes there was a an ice crust 20-30 CM down from Below Tree Line to Near Tree Line. Recent cornice breaking was also observed. Probe depth was 227 cm.

Avalanche

Observed a recent avalanche on a SE aspect, at 11,300 feet. The start of the crown was at a 33 degree slope. The Slab broke at an ice layer, about 30 cm down. Max angle measured was 38 degrees.
