Near 11,000 feet winds were calm, temps around 32 degrees, sky was OVC with valley fog in the morning and HS24 was 6-8 inches.
Snowpack
Surface conditions were supportable and cold, dry powder existed on all aspects and elevations.
Avalanche
On steep south facing terrain, non-consequential sluff was easy to initiate where poor bonding exists between new snow and the recently buried melt freeze crust. The loose running snow was slow moving, easily managed and exhibited no slab characteristics.
