Very nice day with broken clouds. Clouds building to the north and west. Calm conditions, virtually no wind.

Snowpack

Different conditions on northerly and southerly aspects. Southerly: HS= 40 cm, sun crust on surface of snow. Crust is not bonded well to underlying rounds. Good habitat for near surface facets. 12 cm of frozen facets at base of pack. ECTX, CTN. Northerly: HS= 80 cm. Widespread surface hoar growth about 2mm in size. Underlying pack is soft (boot pen about 50cm) and rounding. At snow pit site, there was about 2cm of wind drifted snow on top of the surface hoar layer. ECTX (x2)
