bluebird, light W breeze at summit (13,200) 20F, 11,000 solar aspects quite wet in PM, all aspects metling below 10,000' to trailhead

Snowpack

wind affected above 12,000', mix of denuded hard-icy surface, sastrugi, and faceting windslab. faceted storm snow over hard supportive layers to treeline, mix of faceted powder on supportive base over facests in shade, to e\melted corn snow over bottomless in sun below treeline.

Avalanche

12,500' elevation -old (post tue storm) windslab avalanche crown circling much of E and S facing part of hayden bowl, stepped down to basal layer locally. . slide surface showed red dirt layer. original siide appeared to be in this weeks' wind slab snow over lightly colored red dirt layer from last weeks wind event.
