Weather

Our turn around point was on broken hand pass, we never made our way to the base of the couloir. The most snow we saw was in the NE facing bowl below Broken Hand Pass. Location: Broken Hand Pass Aspect: NE Elevation: ~12,800'

Snowpack

We didn't dig any formal pits. However, for the most part, the snow was very hard on top and a tad punchy in areas closer to rock bands and also in areas that had been exposed to more sun. In the shallower areas, closer to rock bands, deep facet layers at and near the surface were also observed, however this was not the norm. Below 12,000' the snow had turned into true spring corn by 2pm, specifically on E and SE facing slopes (where we skied down).
