Weather

Windy and overcast. Sun only broke through the clouds once or twice for less than minute. Despite only ~2in of new snow, there was lots of snow blowing around.

Snowpack

The snowpack in this area is weaker with more pronounced and well-preserved facet layers than other nearby areas in the Front Range zone. There are several stiff slab/facet and or crust-facet combinations on most slopes that have not been stripped (like most west-facing slopes). On all but north-facing slopes the weak layers are capped by stout and supportable crusts. The crusts are lacking on north-facing terrain making these slopes most worrisome.
