Snowpack

Looks like there was a somewhat recent rain event at least at elevations below 10,000 feet. Hard in the morning and softening up throughout the day. Saw at least 6 natural point release wet avalanches coming off of the steep S/SE aspect of Taylor peak. Also saw several nearby avalanches. Descending from the Petit Grepon set off a minor wet slide at the base on the steep south facing snow field below the Petit. Noticed large cracks in the snowpack near lakes and creeks where melting below had weakened the support.
