Snowpack

Location: Irwin Aspect: S/SE Elevation: 12,500 Ascended on a N aspect on snow that was stiff and wind-scoured. Once we reached an open ridge, the wind was howling generally W to E and transporting what snow it could find. Other than the wind, sun was out and keeping things warm. Southerly face was getting solar radiation softening up the snowpack. Snowpack shallow up top, 12-14" or shallower. No signs of instability noticed on the way down, no natural or human avy activity noticed. Hiked a few spots that appeared to have been skied a week ago or so.
