Weather

Cold temperatures during all the day. High winds coming from the SW,redirected to W due to the terrain. Wind drifting below and near tree line, increasing with elevation. Overcast until 1pm and broken since then.

Snowpack

60-65 cm of slab increasing in hardness (from F to 1F)above 2 cm of SH (12/3/2013). 4F+ old faceted snow immediately below that.Didn't dig much below weak layer. Crown profile on natural avalanche on NW facing slope. ECTP 20 SC on SH. Suspect slab getting harder and more sensitive as it consolidates.
