Weather
Beautiful Spring day. Warm Temperatures and ample sunshine.
Snowpack
The new snow from Monday and Tuesday's storm is quickly settling under Spring weather. The new snow was dry on all slopes in the morning, but many slopes became wet and hot quickly as temperatures rose and the sun shined. Wind-Loaded pockets of snow up to 18 inches deep were observed on Southerly slopes from the recent storm. These pockets were very wet and heavy in the afternoon sun. The new snow stayed cold and dry on protected north facing slopes higher in elevations. A crust formed near and below treeline on slopes that had warmed during the day and sunny slopes above treeline.
Avalanche
Loose Wet activity was observed on steep rocky slopes in the afternoon.
