light overcast to light cumulus growth, partly sunny to hazy, temps in hihg 20s at 10,500' calm to light NW breeze, saw perhaps 25 snowflakes

boot pen = knee, ski pen = 30 cm, small surface hoar facest (3mm?) in many locations, storm snow remained dry in NE and shaded aspects above 10,000'. pit on NNE exposure just east of ridge crest, 29 degree slope. 210 ht. 40 cm storm snow 210 surface facets 170 loose soft storm snow, only slighly cohesive; fist 135 red diffuse snirt (dirt) layer- 4 finger to 1 finger; 125 1 finger -pencil 85 depth facets to ground CT- 195- easy (7), Q2 135- easy (9), Q1, planar sudden failure on fine facets below red snirt. 85- moderate (1) Q2 in facets
