Weather

Skies were obscured becoming broken by late pm. Light valley winds out of the NW w/ moderate gusts. Intermittent S-1 snowfall. Cold temps. -8.0°C @ 14:00 at 9150ft.

Snowpack

Found 5cm of new snow in the valley bottom. Seems snow totals vary significantly w/ elevation and location in the range. Dug on a shallow mostly faceted SW slope below treeline. HS of 76cm. Mid-Jan crust, down 30cm from surface, has been eroded from faceting. Saw repeatable sudden collapse results on facets (CTM (SC)) down 11cm w/ overlying crust. No propagation w/ extended column on this layer.
